Who We Are

IMG-3249.jpeg

A worker-owned cooperative is a business that is based on a foundation of community. We are 5 worker-owners, each equal in ownership and equal in influence; our decisions are made democratically (one person, one vote) following deliberate discussion. We collectively seek to create an ethical, inclusive, and dynamic business that changes as its community develops in order to provide the best service possible. Since the workers of our business have ownership, there is a level of care and pride in our work that translates directly to our customers.

Nick Manta

Nick Manta is one of two KBC super randonneurs. What does that mean?!? Basically between April and May 2109 Nick road his bike more than 1500 km. He road over mountains, through the night, and in all sorts of interesting weather. Because of this experience Nick brings a wealth of practical bicycling knowledge to KBC. Need tips for fixing a flat in the rain? Lost somewhere in Pennsylvania? Need to pick up your new Aggplantta from Ikea? If you’re thinking about trying something new with your bike Nick has your back. Also Nick’s favorite movie is the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Natalie “Woody” Felice

Most of the time you can find Woody planning local camping trips, riding brevets, or rambling around in the dirt with her Velodash teammates. Woody's favorite part of riding is the constant snacking, especially if chocolate milk and deviled eggs are involved. She has a passion for teaching mechanic classes, especially to w/t/f/enby folx, and is super stoked to help grow that community in Philly. In winter 2020, she got her Professional Bicycle Mechanic certification from UBI. Ask her about: snacking, saddles, the perfect fender line, and hydraulic brake juice.

Ryan Stanis

If KBC was a late 90s pop group sensation, Ryan would be “The Old One”. A total information sponge, Ryan has strived to share the knowledge he’s gained as a bicycle mechanic with anyone who wants it, believing that reduction in roadblocks to access is paramount to community growth. Recently awarded the obscure title of “Super Randonneur”, Ryan found his way to France for Paris-Brest-Paris in August 2019 alongside fellow KBC worker owner, Nick Manta. Find Ryan mountain biking in the Belmont Plateau or sneaking off for a s24o whenever the opportunity arises!

Ag Manta

As one of the three left-handers at KBC, Ag is a leap-day Pisces who loves talking about bikes almost as much as riding them. This trait comes in handy when working on custom builds and getting people excited to ride. Ag would love to see more people make the switch to bike commuting and help grow Philly’s cycling community. Ag loves to spend time on his mountain bike in belmont and is currently building up his dream touring bike so that one day he can take on the Great Divide.

Zack Rachell

Zack’s passion is bicycling and he is excited to share that passion with others and to help them explore the freedom it provides. Zack’s favorite kinds of riding are long miles with lots of snacks, racing cyclocross, and spending time hopping over logs at Belmont Trails in Fairmount Park. Zack’s primary goal as a Worker-Owner at KBC is to use his experiences to share knowledge with others and help to grow a stronger, more independent community of riders.
