February in Full Effect - Office Hours pt. 2 and a Fun Fundraiser

DO: pose your bike in beautiful snowy fields. DON’T: shift into this gear combination.

We’re almost through the second week of the second month of 2021, and while repairs have slowed down a bit, we’re still cooking a lot of pots over here at Keystone HQ.

Office Hours - Episode 2, “…shouldn’t it be called a ‘rerailer’?”

Our second edition of “Keystone Office Hours” will take place this coming Monday 2/15. A lot of folks who attended last week’s basic maintenance chat (check our last blog post if you missed it!) wanted help to demystify shifting, so this time we will answer your questions and go over some basics.
Click here to sign up! Feel free to come with any questions for us! We'll start at 6pm and we'll chat for about 45 min.

Fundraising on a Friday

Just yesterday (before Ryan could get this blog post out), we posted about a fundraiser we were doing for two awesome local organizations. We had a very lightly used Surly Bridge Club, in a size small, that we wanted to use to raise money for The Iglesias Community Garden and Community Action Relief Project. This morning, before we even opened, we got an email from Kris asking if the bike was still available. Two donations of $500 (one to each org) later, and the bike is theirs! Holy smokes that was quick! Thanks so much Kris!

Some short blurbs about the garden and CARP:

“CARP is a mutual aid project committed to sharing resources and distributing wealth throughout the Kensington community.” They do regular food, hygiene product, and clothing distribution at Kensington and Lehigh. Click here for more details.

The Iglesias Garden is a community garden based in Kensington. They bring joy and beauty to the neighborhood in addition to youth programming, block parties, and many other community initiatives. Click here for more details and updates.

Thanks again Kris! Enjoy the bike!

Hope you’re all staying warm and safe during this polar vortex. We’ve seen some photos of folks enjoying the snow covered trails in the Wissahickon, and to them we say, “Hell yeah, get it.” We’ll talk to ya next week, if not sooner.
